Airport Transfers FAQ’s

Where do I meet my chauffeur?

After passport control, and clearing customs, your chauffeur will be waiting at arrivals with a sign or name-board. We understand that airports aren’t always plain sailing, so for that reason, our chauffeurs will have the contact number you provided in order to communicate with you, in case you can’t find one another.

What is the protocol if my flight is either delayed or arrives early?

When booking with LDN Transfers, we ask you to provide us with your flight number, this allows us to monitor and stay up to date with your flight arrival and departure times. Our chauffeurs are always prompt, and our policy requires chauffeurs to arrive at the airport prior to your plane landing.

What happens if my flight is seriously delayed, or even cancelled?

Please contact us, and we will arrange a new transfer.

What is included in the fare?

Our prices include parking, tolls, and congestion charges.

Roughly how long before my flight should I arrive at the airport?

We always advise our clients to arrive at the airport 2 hours prior for a short-haul flight, and 3 hours before departure for a long-haul flight.

How do we know how much luggage the vehicle can hold?

As stated in our fleet section; our Mercedes-Benz E Class, S Class, and BMW 7 Series all hold 2 large cases, and 3 carry-ons. Our Mercedes-Benz V Class holds 7 large cases, and 7 carry-ons, whilst our Range Rover’s hold 2 large cases, and 3 carry-ons. Please note that we also have a luggage van for any requirements that exceed the storage capacity of our vehicles.

How long does it take to get from the airport to Central London?

Journey times differ depending on the weather, time of day, and traffic conditions. Typically, these are the journey times relevant to Central London from the following airports:

  • Heathrow Airport 60 minutes
  • City Airport 40 minutes
  • Gatwick Airport 90 minutes
  • Stansted Airport 100 minutes
  • Luton Airport 90 minutes

Are the chauffeurs smartly dressed?

All our chauffeurs are required to wear a suit and tie, accompanied by a pair of shoes to complete the look. Our chauffeurs are a reflection of the company, so looking the part is a necessity.

Will the chauffeur respect our privacy?

The privacy and confidentiality of our clients is paramount. Our chauffeurs are industry leaders, and carry ample years of experience in the game, they all value the importance of discretion and privacy of the clients they serve. The chauffeurs at LDN Transfers are also required to sign confidentiality agreements.

Will the chauffeur open the doors and carry our luggage?

We treat all of our clients like royalty. Our courteous chauffeurs take pride in helping our clients, and have a duty of care towards them from the moment they meet, ensuring a truly VIP experience.

How old are the vehicles used?

The vehicles in our fleet are the most modern, and up-to-date models, usually no older than 3 years old.

Can I expect a clean vehicle?

A clean vehicle is non-negotiable in our company. All vehicles are well maintained, and regularly valeted giving every client that new car feel.

Will my vehicle be safe?

Safety is priority number one. We use top of the line vehicles from manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, and Range Rover, which all have outstandingly high safety ratings. All of our vehicles are serviced regularly, with MOT’s renewed every 6 months. Daily routines involve checking the oil, coolants, and tyre pressures.

Can I charge my phone in the vehicle?

All of the vehicles in our fleet have multiple ports and chargers available for Android, and iPhone.

Is bottled water available?

Bottled water is available to all of our clients free of charge.

Am I permitted to smoke in the vehicle?

Unfortunately, smoking is not permitted in our vehicles. However, our chauffeurs will gladly stop for smoke breaks if necessary.

Is there WiFi on board?

WiFi is available on all our vehicles, simply ask your chauffeur for the WiFi credentials.

Booking & Pricing FAQ’s

How far in advance should I book?

We suggest booking as soon as you have arranged your travel plans to ensure ample time to prepare your service, and confirm availability. However, we have taken a numerous amount of bookings a few hours prior to requiring the service.

Are children considered passengers?

Regardless of age, all children are considered passengers and have to be accounted for.

Are children seats, and booster seats available?

We provide both children, and booster seats upon request. When booking a service where a child is present, just let us know the ages of the children, and we’ll provide the appropriate child seat accordingly and free of charge.

Do you have a price list?

All of our tariffs are available on our website on the fleet section, or upon request by emailing bookings@ldntransfers.com

Will I be charged extra for travelling through the Congestion Charge zone?

There is no extra charge for entering the congestion charge zone.

Is VAT included in the price?

VAT is not included in the quoted price, and is charged at 20%.

How do I pay for my booking?

For standard services, you are able to pay as soon as you book through our booking system on our website. Furthermore, for bespoke services, including corporate hire, and events, an invoice is issued after the completion of the job.

Do you charge waiting time?

As a company standard, we offer 15 minutes free waiting time on our services, and 30 minutes free waiting time on our airport transfers. After the complementary waiting time is over, depending on the vehicle chosen, we charge at an hourly rate divided into 15 minute increments.

Are extra charges applicable on special holidays?

We only charge extra for our services on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
